Both are different processors, the 7s Gen 2 and the 7 Plus Gen 2. The 7s Gen 2 is designed for midrange devices whereas the 7 Plus Gen 2 is meant for premium midrange devices that fall within the 30k to 40k price range. To put it simply, their working efficiency can be compared using the Antutu scores - 600k for the former and 1100k for the latter.

If the 7+ gen 2 is already like this, I hope that the 6 gen line also undergoes a notorious evolution as well, like the 6 gen 2 reaching more than 500,000 points in the Antutu Benchmark... It costs nothing to dream... :)

We should all thank the MediaTek Dimensity 8100, as it started all this.It was such a powerful chip, yet a midrange option in MediaTek's lineup, that it forced Qualcomm to create something exceptional in the midrange market. It's not that Qualcomm is incapable of making something good; they could have done this years ago. They just didn't have any competition, so they were doing whatever they wanted. So, if you think they developed the 7+ Gen 2 out of the goodness of their heart, think again. My whole point here is that competition drives innovation and benefits consumers! If MediaTek does something groundbreaking with entry-level chips, you can bet Qualcomm will follow suit.

SilentGhost, It seems that the failure of the base Gen 1 chipsets for both the 8 Gen 1 and 7 Gen 1 has also served as a wake-up call for Qualcomm to step up their game. After discovering that the chipsets manufactured by Samsung are highly inefficient (throttling, significant battery drain), they decided to partner with TSMC for the 8+G1 and 7+G1, and continued the same for the Gen 2 chipsets.Following this change, the performance of these chipsets has been ridiculously fast. I've heard that the 8 Gen 2 even surpasses the Bionic A16 (one of the fastest chips on the market) in some cases, such as gaming.

the F4 GT had the 8 Gen 1 which is notorious for being a stove and the worst implementation of 8 Gen 1 on any phone (see Golden Reviewer on YouTube).whereas 7+ Gen 2 is the "new 870", meaning the best performance, and power efficiency in its generation AND does not heat meaning sustained performance.

SilentGhost, except, according to Gsmarena, the 7+ gen 2 on the Poco F5 has one of the worst sustained performances due to heating. It basically drops to 65% in performance while on average, it only hovers 85% sometimes 90% after 30mins of the test.

except, maybe because It's summer, and ambient temps are already hot, tbh I don't know how gsmarena conducts Its stress test. unless they did it in an air-conditioned room at approx 25°C, you can't trust those results that much, and final note, 30/60min is very long for a passively cooled phone, the normal value is 10/15min.

The naming directly skips the S7+G1, S7G2 surprises me, there is no doubt that the S7+G2 is powerful, and the phone equipped with it will be worth buying. MTK's 8100 and Samsung 4nm obviously scared Qualcomm, and the phone equipped with this Soc will greatly reduce the sales of Samsung A series mobile phones. Stupid Samsung forced sales exynos and poor 4nm LPE will ruin the A series phone, exynos 1380 performance is not even as good as S778G, but the price is higher than the S778G phone, let alone S7+G2, it's time to teach Samsung a lesson.
